The post is available as part of the DROP-IT European FET-OPEN project, involving 8 European partners, that will start at the end of 2019. The principal investigator of UJI partner is Assoc. Prof. Iván Mora-Seró.
The objective of the project is to develop novel families of promising and versatile Pb-free perovskite and perovskite-like materials in an innovative, cost-effective and multifunctional drop-on demand inkjet technology.
We will develop hybrid organic-inorganic lead-free perovskites (LFP)-related materials that will overcome two of the most important drawbacks: (1) The presence of Pb as hazardous element and (2) the long-term degradation of devices under ambient conditions, due to organic compounds present in the perovskite and charge transport layers. The UJI group will be mainly focused in the development of inkjet-printed LEDs based on LFPs. However, the project will also develop solar cells and other photonic devices (optical waveguides, photodetectors…).
There is a Position for a Graduated on Physics, Chemistry or Engineering.

The PhD student will develop an experimental work. This work will allow the PhD student to defend a Doctoral Thesis at the end of her/his contract. Experience with preparation and characterization techniques will be important. We will consider previous experience with:
- Synthesis of materials (especially halide perovskites).
- Experience in thin film deposition by different techniques.
- Fabrication of optoelectronic devices.
- Experience with structural, chemical, optical or electrical characterization of materials and optoelectronic devices.
- Modeling of solid state devices.

General skills requested are:
• Strongly motivated to develop a scientific research career.
• Excellent results obtained during the studies graduated.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent in English.

Benefits
The candidate shall be appointed with a full-time (37.5 hours/week) employment contract for periods of one year, renewable for a total of up to three years, according to the Spanish legislation and covered under the Spanish social security scheme. The estimated start date is 1st of January 2020, but could vary depending of the selection process or visa process.
