On the 24th of September 2021, the INAM team participated in the European researchers’ night (MEDNIGHT). The European Researchers' Night had the aim to approach the science to the general public through multiple interactive activities for people of all ages. Members of INAM were actively involved in this event. “The participation of a very diverse population group, from kids to people with any disability, made this outreach activity a night to remember” said the INAM team.
The INAM team participated in the Mednight event with a stand of “Artificial photosynthesis: mimicking the plants to change our energy model”. This activity included a module where by a solar panel transformed light into electricity, which was subsequently stored as chemical bonds into hydrogen. The bubbles of hydrogen, observed by our attendees, were further stored and used to generate electricity back to move a fan or a car.
