This is project administrator role: working closely with the Principal Investigator, Dr. Iván Mora Seró (Universitat Jaume I – Institute of Advanced Materials - INAM), and with the ERC (European Research Council – project’s funder), the post holder will be responsible for the daily operational, administrative and financial support for the project.
You will need to be meticulous, well-organised, and confident working with spreadsheets, web-based administrative and finance systems, and a multi-media, multi-lingual website. You will be able to work on your own initiative and within the team, self-managing a varied workload with competing priorities, deal calmly with difficult or pressured situations and prioritise your own workload to meet deadlines, with the flexibility to reorganise your workload at short notice to accommodate any changing priorities within the team.
The ability to interact positively and to communicate effectively with the research team members as well as the ERC, with a commitment to providing a high standard of service, is essential.
You will be part of a research team based at the University of Jaume I, Institute of Advanced Materials (Host Institution) and your principal duties and responsibilities will be:
(i) helping in the process of recruiting personnel, including made and send the announcement, compilation of the CV; (ii) administrative tasks such as preparation of the agenda, banks accounts and bureaucracy and intermediate with HI administration in order to the personnel can fully focus on their research tasks; (iii) providing guidance to new members of staff regarding lab procedures, health and safety issues, etc.; (iv) welcoming and helping accommodation for new personnel and arranging travel & accommodation to visitors; (v) arranging the registration, travel and accommodation for all the researchers and Ph.D. students involved in the project when participating in workshops, international conferences or research visits to other centres; (vi) arranging the shipment of samples to other collaborating labs and receive samples from other laboratories; (vii) be responsible of buying consumables, processing and monitoring expenses; (viii) support in the process of buying equipment, including subsequently inventory of equipment purchased in the project; (ix) assistance to PI in scheduling meetings with staff and visitors, companies, other researchers; (x) supporting PI with the administrative procedures in interim and final reports as well as justification; (xi) being responsible of dealing with Open Access publications and open access data of the results of the project.

Skills/Qualifications
• Previous experience with research projects’ management/administration.
• Previous experience of working with public-engaged research, interacting with academics.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point, etc.).
• Some knowledge of data storage and sharing programmes (e.g. Dropbox).
• Some knowledge of website’s management, broadcasting, archives.

Benefits
The candidate shall be appointed with a part time employment contract for periods of one year, renewable for a total of up to five years, according to the Spanish legislation and covered under the Spanish social security scheme.
The estimated start date is 1st September 2017.
