Summary/Abstract:
Ecological transition needs the development of sustainable, clean and renewable energy sources where solar energy will play a major role. Digital transition will need to power the technologic devices in a broad variety of context. Both transitions demand versatile solar systems able to adapt and optimize in a wide range of circumstances and applications both indoors and outdoors.
StepUp is an ambitious project focusing on scale up halide perovskite solar cell technology in order to take advantages of the outstanding particularities of this system (easy processability, tunable band gap, use of flexible substrates…) in contrast with other photovoltaic systems for outdoors (agrivoltaics, semitransparent windows, building integration) and indoors (coupling with indoor illumination spectra, power autonomous devices, internet of things) applications, as well as the optimization of the up-scaled devices for these concrete application, from few cm2 devices powering Internet of Things (IoT) indoor sensors to contribute to both ecological and digital transition, to larger area, flexible substrates for outdoor applications in semitransparent devices for agrivoltaics, windows or building integration.
