The present thesis is focused on the digitalisation of chemical production methods in the context of sustainable process development, with the goal of finding new alternative synthesis routes for a more efficient use of resources. The strategies used include the digital design of chemical reactors, their manufacturing using 3D printing, and the digital control of process conditions on automated flow platforms. This is applied to different cases of study, by converting batch processes into continuous flow and integrating them into automated flow platforms. The cases studied can be divided into two theme areas: (1) sustainable synthesis and (2) advanced materials crystallization. In the first area, new reactor geometries are developed for improvements over yield and selectivity in processes that involve electrochemical synthesis and carbon dioxide conversion. In the second area, a flow platform is developed, offering improvements over synthesis reproducibility and final properties of perovskite single crystals.
