Exploring and mapping, at the molecular level, the interface in hybrid electronic devices is one of the ultimate frontiers in materials science. In this Lecture, I will explain our approach to understand how is the interface in hybrid perovskite thin films and what controls the physical and chemical processes occurring therein at the molecular scale. Moreover, I will also introduce how interfaces, between two different materials, must also solve important challenges in catalysis for the reduction of CO2 into chemical products such as ethylene, ethanol, methane and/or methanol.
The future of either chemical approaches, towards a sustainable circular economy, and/or energy efficient electronic devices will greatly depend on catalytic processes involving heterogenous hybrid molecular catalysts and tuning hybrid organic/inorganic interfaces, respectively.
