The Institute of Advanced Materials (INAM) successfully conducted the second edition of its multidisciplinary seminar series titled "Recent Advances in Materials and Sustainability for the Future" on April 12th, 2024.
The seminar series was specifically designed for PhD students from diverse research groups within the Institute to share their latest findings and foster collaboration across disciplines. A key addition to this year's event was a session poster exhibition held during the coffee break, providing an opportunity for participants to identify common research interests and potential collaborators.
Dr. Carmen Mejuto, Dr. Ana Gutiérrez, Dr. Elena Más, and Dr. Sofia Masi led the organizing committee for this edition. Their efforts ensured the success of the seminar, allowing participants to engage deeply with each other's research and explore avenues for future cooperation.
"We were delighted to see the enthusiasm and high-quality research presented at this seminar," remarked Dr. Carmen Mejuto, a member of the organizing committee. "Events like these are crucial for fostering interdisciplinary connections and advancing our understanding of materials and sustainability."
The seminar featured presentations covering a wide range of topics, from novel materials synthesis techniques to sustainability applications in various industries. The poster exhibition was particularly well-received, with attendees actively discussing potential collaborative projects and future research directions.
"We are proud of the accomplishments of our PhD students and researchers in pushing the boundaries of materials science and sustainability," said Dr. Ana Gutiérrez. "INAM remains committed to promoting such initiatives that promote knowledge sharing and interdisciplinary collaboration."
INAM continues to be a hub for cutting-edge research in materials science and sustainability, with events like the seminar series playing a pivotal role in advancing scientific dialogue and innovation.
