L’Institut de Materials Avançats participa en un projecte innovador ÀgoraDigital de comunicació científica transmèdia, impulsat pel Servei de Comunicació i Publicacions de la Universitat Jaume I (UJI) el qual compta amb el finançament de la Fundació Espanyola per a la Ciència i la Tecnologia (FECYT) del Ministeri d’Economia, Indústria i Competitivitat.

INAM participates in European Training Network Maestro

MAking pErovskiteS TRuly explOitable

MAESTRO (MAking pErovskiteS TRuly explOitable) is a coordinated training network, including five SMEs (OPV, 3G, MET, SAU, TIB), a multinational company (DYE) and the UK national metrology laboratory (NPL) from 8 EU (2 in the EU-13) and associated countries, giving ESRs exposure to a wide spectrum of expertise: materials synthesis and fabrication, device characterization, and modelling, upscaling and manufacturing techniques. Maestro’s overall objective is to generate new skills, knowledge and innovation in the exploitation of perovskite materials in solar power and efficient lighting.

Last Friday 7th of April 2017, Sheila Ruiz Botella successfully defended his PhD thesis at Universitat Jaume I (UJI). The doctoral thesis, entitled "The importance of ligand design for the development of supramolecular catalysts and ion receptors” was supervised by Dr. Eduardo Peris. The candidate received the highest marks “Cum Laude” by the evaluation committee.

Francisco Gonell Gómez successfully defended his PhD thesis last Monday 13th March at Universitat Jaume I (UJI). The doctoral thesis, entitled “Design of new nanomaterials for their use in catalysis and photochemistry” was supervised by Beatriz Julián López, Associate Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at UJI, and Avelino Corma Canós, Research Professor at Instituto de Tecnologia Química (ITQ-CSIC).

Firujiciència 2017

El pavelló poliesportiu de la Universitat Jaume I de Castelló ha obert les seues portes avui dijous 6 d’abril de 2017 de 10 a 13 hores per acollir els talleristes de la tercera edició de Firujiciència, una iniciativa de la universitat pública de Castelló i el Centre de Formació, Innovació i Recursos Educatius (Cefire) de Castelló, en què la ciència i l’alumnat són els protagonistes amb l’organització de més de 60 tallers científics. En aquesta edició ha participat el INAM.

Marta Vallés was the winner of the best poster prize in ABXPV17 Conference

Last week some members of INAM took part in the International Conference on Perovskite Thin Film Photovoltaics (ABXPV17), which took place in Valencia, Spain from 1st to 2nd March 2017.

The ABXPV17 was a great opportunity for establish new collaborations with world class research groups and start new intellectual challenges in the field of perovskite solar cells.

Less Toxic Organic Photovoltaic Materials

The director of the Institute for Advanced Materials Research (INAM), Prof. Juan Bisquert, and the researcher Dr. Antonio Guerrero have collaborated on the European Project Sunflower, in which they have helped to develop less toxic organic photovoltaic (OPV) materials viable for industrial production.
