Beatriz Julian-Lopez

Beatriz Julián-López (1977) graduated in Chemistry at the University Jaume I in 1999. She received the Ph.D. Degree with honors (2003) with a work on hybrid siloxane materials. Then, she joined Prof. Clément Sanchez at the University Pierre et Marie Curie – Sorbonne in Paris as a postdoctoral fellow to study functional mesoporous silica materials for bioapplications. She conducted several international stays at Ecole National Superior de Chimie de Paris (ENSCP), Centre de Recherche Paul Pascal-CNRS and University of Bordeaux, University of Aveiro and Universidad Complutense of Madrid. In 2007, she awarded a ‘Ramón y Cajal’ contract at University Jaume I. Since November 2011, she is Associate Professor at Universitat Jaume I and lead the group of Multifunctional Materials. She has published close to 60 papers in international peer reviewed journals, receiving more than 4000 citations, and has a 26 h-index. Her research has been focused in the development of inorganic nanostructures and hybrid organic-inorganic materials doped lanthanide ions for application in optics, energy, ceramics, biomedicine and catalysis. Her recent activities are centered on the design of nanoparticles with optical up-conversion, hybrid perovskites and nanomaterials for photoelectrocatalysis.
